BEST IN THE WEST

Tylo Maritz, and Daniella Venter, both students at the Wilcarina & Annebelle School of Dancing, recently received top accolades at the National Eisteddfod Academy Dance competitions that were held throughout Gauteng.

The girls were awarded the PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR OVERALL BEST SENIOR/JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT in WESTERN GAUTENG, respectively.

Both girls competed in the competitions in Ballet, Spanish Dancing and Contemporary/Jazz.

Additionally, Tylo received GOLD MEDALS for; Contemporary Solo, and Classical Ballet, (highest % in her category) and AMBASSADOR AWARDS for; Demi Character solo, Classical Ballet, Spanish Dance.(only awarded to 3% of individual or group entries throughout the given year)

In the Roodepoort Dance Festival she was the All Round winner in age 15 – 17 in Ballet, Spanish Dance, and Contemporary/Jazz

Tylo also received bursaries for the Most Promising Ballet dancer, as well as Most Promising Contemporary/Jazz Dancer.

Trophies for; Best Spanish Solo over 13yrs, Best Personality, Highest % achieved in Ballet and Spanish Dance, as well as the highest average % achieved at the entire festival, including Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary/Jazz. She was also awarded the Best Contemporary/Jazz dancer over 13 yrs.

Daniella received an Ambassador’s award for her Demi Character Ballet Solo.

In the Roodepoort Dance Festival, she was All Round Winner for Ballet, and Spanish Dance, ages 13 – 15.
